Newly crowned IBF heavyweight champion Charles "Prince" Martin 23-0-1) is excited to face fellow unbeaten Anthony Joshua (15-0) across the pond at the O2 Arena in London.
The 29-year-old Martin is very confident of not only leaving the ring with a victory but of taking The 2012 Olympic golde medalist's fans in the process.
"Fighting in the UK meant everything to me because I am going to take his fans. He has got all those Irish fans and British fans and I am going to take them all. They going to be Prince Charles Martin fans when I leave the O2 Arena on April 9th," said Martin.
In Joshua's last outing in December, he was wobbled early on before coming back to secure a 7th round TKO victory against Dillian Whyte.
Martin is confident that his power will do more than just temporary hurt Joshua.
"I am going to do more than rock him. I am going to put him on his back. I am going to put him on his back pockets. I get more confident when I start training. Oh yeah that is when all the shit come out. It is going to be crazy. I got a real good game plan. We coming with structure. That is one thing about me, I am not only a big specimen but I am smart and I am ring savvy. I have boxing intelligence," Martin explained.
Martin will be making his first title defense and received criticism with the way he won his world title. Glazkov hurt his knee in the third round of their January fight and was unable to continue.
Martin said that it isn't his fault that Glazkov got hurt and said that maybe he got hurt because he was trying to avoid his power.
"I didn't sit there and break that man's leg. Maybe he felt that power. Like I said the knock out was inevitable. There was no way he was going to be able to escape it. There was no way he was going to walk out of there and go the distance. He was finna get knocked out and his body gave out on him. That is basically what happened," Martin told BoxingScene.com.
