Former world champion Carlos "King" Molina has signed a multi-year contract that binds him with Mexican promotional firm Promociones del Pueblo, in partnership with Luis DeCubas and Leon Margules.
Molina, who for two years lived in Chicago, Illinois, was forged as a boxer in the United States but he was always appealing because of his Mexican warrior's heart. He's faced names like Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., Mike Alvarado, Roberto Valenzuela, Erislandy Lara, Kermit Cintron, James Kirkland, Ishe Smith, Cory Spinks and Cornelius Bundrage.
The boxer has been competing in Mexico after being deported due to a legal issue with his visa. He hopes his team will work out the visa issue to give him the ability to fight in the United States.
"My level has not gone down. I enjoy going every day to the gym and running, so if they tell me that tomorrow I'll be facing a world champion - I would be ready and in the best condition," Molina said.
"I've had the opportunity to work this year with Promociones del Pueblo. They have a great organization and above all the seriousness and the respect they have for the work of the boxers that not all businesses have. I'm sure great things will come in my career as a professional."
Molina has a record of 23 wins, seven of them by knockout, in exchange for 6 losses and 2 draws.
