Brandon Rios rejects any notion that he struggled to make the welterweight limit for tonight's fight with WBO world champion Timothy Bradley at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Rios stepped on the scale and came in at 147.2-pounds after stripping down completely. He came back less than an hour later and made the division limit.
Rios has gone through weights struggles in the past, which forced him to move up from the lightweight division to junior welterweight. He only spent a few fights at 140-pounds before making the jump to the welterweight limit in 2013 and there was no turning back from there.
The fight with Bradley headlines an HBO televised event.
Should Rios win, he has 90 days to make a mandatory defense against Sadam Ali - but there is also the possibility of a lucrative opportunity to move up in weight to face Saul "Canelo" Alvarez at a catch-weight - if the Mexican star defeat WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in two weeks.
"I took a big ass sh*t, that's what it was. For real, I had to take a sh*t when I came out on the scale. I was in the restroom and they said I had to come out and I was like 'oh f***' and came out on the scale. I got relaxed, took a big ass sh*t and it was all good," Rios said in a Top Rank interview.
