Tony Weeks has been selected to be the referee for the welterweight fight between Timothy Bradley and Brandon Rios.
Weeks was approved at Thursday’s meeting of the Nevada Athletic Commission. Bradley-Rios will take place on Nov. 7 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas.
Weeks has worked one Bradley fight before: the draw with Diego Chaves in 2014. He also was the referee for two Rios fights: the rematch loss to Mike Alvarado in 2013 and a technical knockout of Oscar Meza in 2009.
The judges selected for the bout were Adalaide Byrd, Glenn Trowbridge and Glenn Feldman. All three are familiar with the boxers.
Byrd was ringside for Bradley’s stoppage of Joel Casamayor in 2011. She was the lone judge to have Richar Abril ahead of Rios in Rios’ split decision win in 2012, and she worked Rios’ stoppages of Miguel Acosta in 2011, Meza in 2009 and Sandro Marcos in 2008.
Trowbridge worked Bradley’s rematch with Manny Pacquiao in 2014 and had Pacquiao farthest ahead at 118-110. He had Rios beating Abril, 115-113.
Feldman was the lone judge to have Juan Manuel Marquez ahead of Bradley in 2013, scoring it 115-113. He also worked Rios’ technical knockout of John Murray in 2011.
