Super middleweight Sakio Bika (30-5-2, 21KOs) is eager to secure a rematch with WBC/WBA champion Andre Ward. On February 16th, Bika will face undefeated Nikola Sjekloca (25-0, 7KOs) at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The WBC's interim-title will be at stake.
Ward won a lopsided twelve round decision over Bika in 2010. Bika is being trained by veteran coach Kevin Cunningham.
"I’m very happy to be able to compete for the number one position and be back on the world scene," Bika told The Leader. "I look for this fight to open some big doors for me; a world title shot. I’m feeling confident and happy and focusing now on working hard."
"[Sjekloca] is a talented boxer with a perfect record. I like his jab and he has a good right hand. We are working very hard in the gym to expose his weaknesses and capitalise on my own strengths. This is a great opportunity for me and I’m doing my best preparation possible. I am still young and feel strong, my body feels great and my future isn’t limited to a few more fights."
"I’m looking to get a rematch with Ward. After that I’ll look to defend my title and fight the best around the world. With continued success I will look to bring the big fights back to Australia."
