Alexander says Amir Khan's style is "nothing special" and will play right into his hands at the weekend.
The two welterweights top the bill at Las Vegas' MGM Grand this weekend, live on Sky Sports, and much of the preamble back in the United Kingdom has been about Khan's resurgence and which super-fight might come next.
But Alexander is a former two-weight world champion in his own right, and the American is convinced he can halt Khan's march towards that same achievement come fight night.
He told Sky Sports News HQ: "Khan's style is perfect for me - I'm going to be able to do whatever I want to do whenever I want to do it in the ring. He's a good fighter, but I just don't see anything special that Amir Khan does. From me you're going to see versatility, power, speed, movement - all of it. I'm going to be ready. I'm excited."
Khan, for his part, believes he can outbox Alexander at range and also make life uncomfortable for his opponent on the inside.
"There's going to come a time in the fight when I'll put pressure on him and rough him up a bit," he said. "I know he doesn't like that.
"We've been working with a lot of sparring partners where I've had to go in and go for the body. I don't think he likes body shots either."
