Former two-division world champion Devon Alexander (26-2, 14KOs) has serious doubts that Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) will reinvent his chin in the welterweight division.
In a recent article on BoxingScene.com, Khan stated that his struggles to make weight in the lower weight divisions played a role in getting hurt and dropped in several of his past fights at 135 and 140.
Khan will face Alexander in a Showtime televised fight on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"If you are not born with a chin, it's kind of hard to get it. It's a kind of hard to take a good punch. If you are not born with a chin when you first start fighting, every time you get caught with a good shot you can't take it - you are not going to get [a chin]. If I catch Amir Khan with a good shot, he's gonna go down. I just have to follow the game plan and do what my coach tells me to do," Alexander said.
