Former three time champion Devon Alexander (26-3) is among the many fighters who are excited to potentially have the opportunity to fight on network television.
The Al Haymon advised fighter who has fought regularly on both HBO and Showtime sees a big opportunity at NBC. Not only is it good for the sport but it also is a chance for the fighters to reach different segments of the population and hopefully gain more fans.
"It's a big move that Al made and I think it done the sport some good. I would love to be a household name. I think that's what fighting on NBC gets you," Alexander explained.
With Haymon having 20 dates on NBC along with dates on cable channel Spike TV and Showtime, many of his fighters will have the chance to be more active than in years past. Alexander feels more activity will make him a better fighter.
"I need to be more active and hopefully this will give me the opportunity. I need to fight more often instead of once every six months," Alexander told Boxingscene.com.
