Devon Alexander and Amir Khan appear to be on a collision course for a December 7th showdown at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY. If the fight comes to fruition it will be televised by Showtime and serve as the final show of the year for the sky rocketing network (their December 14th show featuring Adrien Broner and Marcos Maidana will be a pay-per-view event).
In a recent conversation with BoxingScene.com, the 26-year-old Alexander told us that he doesn't understand why Khan is regarded as an elite level fighter. He said that every time the Briton faces a top fighter he loses.
"Who has Khan beat at the top level?" stated Alexander who's only blemish came against Tim Bradley.
Alexander said that Khan is just an average fighter with big aspirations. He went on to say that the only meaningful victory on Khan's resume is Marcos Maidana, who Alexander dominated last year. Maidana had Khan badly hurt late in their fight but to his credit Khan was able to withstand the Argentine's onslaught and win a close decision.
The St. Louis, MO native said that all Khan is going to get on December 7th is another loss on his record.
"The only significant win he had is Maidana and I smoked him every round. This guy thinks he's bigger than what he is . He is average with top level dreams! Every time be has stepped up he has lost so it won't be no different when we fight," Alexander told BoxingScene.com.
