Former world middleweight champion Arthur Abraham believes that Andre Ward has the tools to take down Carl Froch when the two meet in the final of the Showtime Super-Six World Boxing Classic on October 29th in the USA. The 31 year-old fought both men during the tournament, losing via unanimous decisions and eventually went out of the competition with a whimper having lost three of his four bouts.
Froch, 33, and Ward, six years his junior, now clash in the final, which also doubles up as a world title unification, with Froch the WBC champion and Ward holding the WBA strap and Abraham is predicting that the American will come through and take the coveted trophy.
“I think that the winner of the tournament will become Andre Ward. I have faced both Ward and Froch and know their abilities. And I give my preference to the American sportsman,” Arthur Abraham told Aysor.am.
The winner of the two-year tournament will come out as the number one rated super-middleweight in the world and with Mikkel Kessler and Lucian Bute both looking for mega-fights at 168lbs, there are some huge bouts on the table for the champion.
