Arroyo and Gonzalez Win Bouts, Luis Gonzalez Gets Upset

At the Coliseo Luis Aymat Cardona in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico, super flyweight prospect McWilliams Arroyo (10-1, 9 KOs) stopped Gilberto Mendoza (4-2, 1 KO) after three rounds of action. Mendoza injured his right shoulder and couldn't come out for the fourth.

Hot super flyweight prospect Jonathan González (8-0, 7 KOs) made his first ring appearance of 2012, stopping Samuel Gutiérrez (5-10-3, 0 KOs) in five rounds.

Previously undefeated junior welterweight Luis Joel González (9-1-1, 5 KOs) was upset over six rounds. Ramesis Gil (7-3-5, 5 KOs) was able to outwork Gonzalez and won over the three official judges. The scores were 59-55, 58-56 and 58-56.
