Henry Ramírez, trainer of heavyweight contender Chris Arreola, is a very interested observer of the upcoming clash between Vyacheslav Glazkov (21-0-1, 13KOs) and Charles Martin (22-0-1, 20KOs). The fight will be broadcast on Showtime in chief support of the Deontay Wilder-Artur Spzilka main event on January 16th from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The vacant IBF heavyweight title will be the prize at stake for Glazkov and Martin.

"Glazkov has been in with better opposition. He's more battled tested so I favor him though I'm pulling for Martin," said Ramírez.

Martin is advised by boxing power broker Al Haymon who also advises Arreola so it seems natural that Ramírez would root for Martin to possibly set up a showdown between Martin and his fighter for the title down the road.

Arreola went 2-0-1 in 2015 by winning close decisions over Travis Kauffman and Curtis Harper and drawing against Fred Kassi.

Ramírez said that while a title shot would be ideal, the reason why he is going for Martin is because he is friendly with his team.

"That would be great but we've seen Charles a few times in Big Bear and I know his trainer Henry Tillman so I'm pulling for them," Ramírez told BoxingScene.com.
