| Arreola-Stiverne: King Wins Bid, Whopping $1.1 Million

By Rick Reeno Promoter Don King blew away the competition at today's purse bid for the final WBC eliminator between heavyweight contenders Chris Arreola (35-2, 30KOs) and Bermane Stiverne (22-1-1, 20KOs). King, who has Stiverne, secured the rights to promote the fight with a winning bid of $1.1 million dollars. Promoter Dan Goossen, who has Arreola, put down $550,000. Golden Boy Promotions entered a bid of $512,000 and WealthTV put in a bid of $132,000. The fight is expected to get a late November date.

arreola will be getting either a shot at the vacant WBC title or will be getting a rematch vs vitali. i am very familiar with stiverne as i have several of his fights. his loss to demetrice king was a bad stoppage so i don't look too far into that fight but he had issues with austin until he pull... |
