During a recent interview with The Philippine Star, Manny Pacquiao’s strength and conditioning coach, Alex Ariza, told the paper that he expects an explosive fight against Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12KOs) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on June 9th.
Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38KOs), the WBO's welterweight champion, is starting his training camp on April 16th.
Ariza wants Pacquiao to do a lot better in this fight - not fully satisfied with the Filipino star's recent performances against Juan Manuel Marquez and Shane Molsey. Ariza doesn't believe Pacquiao was motivated enough for those fights, but he expects him to be fully motivated for Bradley.
“He’s a high-volume puncher who’ll come forward. Bradley’s not a technical guy like (Juan Manuel) Marquez. He fights somewhat like Manny. That’s why I think it’ll be an explosive fight. It’s up to Manny how to prepare for Bradley," Ariza said.
"And against Bradley, he wants to prove something. His competitive spirit will take over. How he trains will impact on how he does against Bradley. If he trains properly, Manny could blow that guy away in less than five rounds.”
