On Wednesday, IBF super featherweight world champion Argenis "La Tormenta" Mendez 21-2-1 (11 KO's) visited the Iron Mike Productions Gym in Deerfield Beach, Fla. along his manager Jose Nunez.
"We came to Florida with the purpose of discussing my upcoming title defense and we will meet with Mr. Henry Rivalta, president of Rivalta Management, and Mr. Garry Jonas from Iron Mike Productions to discuss this fight. I'm happy to be here, we will open our training camp here in Florida for the next fight. I feel very happy to be are here in this Ggym. I'm home and I feel very comfortable here and have the opportunity to train in this stunning gym with all of the Iron Mike Productions guys," Mendez said
Rivalta and the Acquinity Human Resource Manager, Michael Holt, welcomed Mendez and Nunez and they discussed the last fight.
"I'm still impressed. I have seen that fight many times and I am increasingly convinced that I won by a large margin. If we're being honest I think the most Usmanee managed to do was win maybe three rounds. Anyway, that fight against Usmanee is history, now we have our mind set on the next defense. We will work with John David Jackson for the next match [on an interim basis, head trainer is Lee Beard]. I am eager to return to the ring," Mendez added
Meanwhile Rivalta said - "when and against whom Mendez will fight I can't say at the moment. We have several names and we are working to 100% to make it a good fight versus a great opponent. Mendez showed us that he has everything a world champion needs and are confident that his next title defense will be another great fight that boxing fans will enjoy."Tags: Argenis Mendez
