Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions is planning to stage a big event on March 9th in Guadalajara, Mexico. Beltran wants to finalize a featured battle of former champions for the WBC silver flyweight title. Mexican veterans Edgar Sosa (47-7, 28KOs) and Ulises "Archie" Solis (35-2-3, 22KOs).
This would be the third meeting between the two boxers. They met twice in the past, when they were both young. In 2001, a 6-0 Solis won a split decision over a 5-0 Sosa, and then in 2003 they had a rematch and a 14-0 Solis won a majority decision over a 12-4 Sosa.
Sosa is very interested in a lucrative opportunity to get revenge, but there is also an offer on the table to go to Japan to fight WBC champion Toshiyuki Igarashi.
