Antonio Margarito To Go Full Steam as Promoter

By Miguel Rivera

Former champion Antonio Margarito is going full steam as a boxing promoter. He recently held a press conference in Tijuana to announce his venture, Tornado Promotions. Margarito (38-8, 27KOs), 35-years-old, retired from the sport after getting stopped by Miguel Cotto in their December 2011 rematch. He had a serious eye injury after getting his orbital bone broken in a 2010 decision loss to Manny Pacquiao.

"I'm starting as a promoter. I want to look young talent, guys who have desire, talent and hunger," Margarito said.
