Anthony Ogogo (8-0, 4 KOs) will make his long-awaited return to the ring on May 28 at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, live on Sky Sports. Unbeaten Ogogo's professional career has been stop-start so far due to injury, with the 2012 Olympic bronze medallist set for his first action since July where he moved to 8-0 with a win in Germany over Ruslan Schelev. It was in that fight where he suffered a dislocated shoulder, fighting for the majority of the bout with just one arm, and the Lowestoft man's outing in Germany was at the time also his return from a sustained period on the sidelines following Achilles problems. But the 27 year old insists his injury woes are behind him and he's ready to get his career back on track and make a huge impact in the middleweight division.
LONDON – WBC, Ring Magazine and Lineal Middleweight World Champion Canelo Alvarez (46-1-1, 32 KOs) will make his first title defense of 2016 against former two-time world champion and resurgent contender Amir “King” Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) on May 7, Cinco De Mayo weekend at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, in a match-up of two of the biggest stars in boxing. The event will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View.
George Groves will begin his assault on a fourth World title shot at the top of a stacked Matchroom Boxing and Team Sauerland card at the Copper Box in London on Saturday, January 30, live on Sky Sports.
Anthony Ogogo is upbeat over the future despite dislocating his shoulder on his comeback from a year out with an Achilles injury. The Olympic bronze medallist outpointed Ruslan Schelev in July to move to 8-0-KO4 almost exactly a year since his last fight - but sustained another injury that is likely to keep him out until Christmas. Despite his enforced lack of activity in the ring, Ogogo is determined to finally fulfil his potential and believes without injuries, he would be challenging the likes of WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee by now.
