| Anthony Dirrell: I'm Going After The Froch-Ward Winner
|
|
By Rick Reeno Undefeated super middleweight contender Anthony Dirrell is planning to target the winner of the upcoming WBC/WBA unification between Carl Froch and Andre Ward, which takes place on December 17th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. Dirrell (23-0, 20KOs) is the WBC's number one ranked contender to Froch's title. He plans to take a tuneup in November, but wants the Froch-Ward winner in 2012. Anthony and his brother Andre Dirrell are close friends with Ward - but Anthony is not going to allow friendship to prevent a possible fight. "I have a tuneup, I think I'll have one in November and then I'm going to go after the winner of Froch and Ward. [Me and Ward] are friends, but it's a business at the end of the day. He got to eat and I got to eat. We are just out there and doing what we love to do. I really think Ward is going to pull it off. Froch is going to bring his A-game, but Ward will come out victorious at the end," Dirrell told BoxingScene.com. Tags: Carl Froch , Andre Ward , Ward-Froch , Ward vs Froch , Anthony Dirrell |
He needs to get in line really. Kessler, Bute and Andre have more of a claim to fight the Super Six winner. I hope Andre comes back against Bute though, he'd clown him. Anthony needs to fight some Bika/Green type opposition for now.
Agree 100%. |

got a lot of love for Anthony - I'm not a native Michigander, but I've lived here long enough to support the boxing history and culture of the state. . . Produced a lot of the greats. . . Also, he is a cancer survivor, so that makes him all the more unique.
lol at the abraham/dirrell (andre) f... |
