Anselmo Moreno: Legal Battle Looms Over Chemito

By Jhonny Gonzalez

Manager Roberto Grimaldo held a conference with the media and showed them a contract to validate that he's the contracted agent for the World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight champion Anselmo "Chemito" Moreno. The contract expires on August 2, 2015. Grimaldo is getting ready for a possible legal battle because promoter/agent Carlos Gonzalez is trying to negotiate a multi-fight deal for Moreno with Golden Boy Promotions, which includes a clash with Nonito Donaire.

"The promoter Carlos Gonzalez is negotiating with Sampson Lewkowicz, of Golden Boy Promotions, to sign a 'Chemito' for a series of fights, and to cut me out, and for Carlos González to be representing him," Grimaldo said. "With the contract that I will submit through my lawyer Victor Orobio, confirms that I am the agent of 'Chemito' and that my contract is valid until August 2, 2015," Grimaldo said.

Grimaldo also said that he presented the contract to the Boxing Commission of Panama to certify his right from a legal standpoint.

"Right now, I have no problem with 'Chemito'. What's happening is that 'Chemito' is being manipulated with an offer of a big purse, and he wants to capitalize on that," he said.

seems like when gbp is involved, fighters gets problems with breach of contracts.. shows to you that gbp doesn't know how to develop their own fighters, they just 'steal' them....:chomp: pacquaio, ortiz, donaire, moreno, etc, too many to ignore...

Moreno v Donaire will not happen, Chemito's promoters overpriced him because of Nonito. He's only worth is 50-80K. Never fought in US.:boxing:
