| Angulo: My Heart Pulls For Chavez, I Think Martinez Wins
By Ryan Burton Alfredo "Perro" Angulo was a recent guest on The Boxing Lab, BoxingScene's official audio show. The former interim WBO junior middleweight champion is looking forward to the upcoming showdown between WBC middleweight kingpin Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Sergio Martinez, which takes place on September 15th at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. When I asked Angulo who he thought would win the fight he responding by saying that he was torn. "I think it will be a great fight for the people," Angulo stated. "I am Mexican and in my heart I will pull for Chavez but Sergio is a great fighter and has a lot of experience. I think the fight can go either way. My heart will be with Chavez but I think Maravilla will get his hand raised." Angulo is targeting a November return to the ring. The junior middleweight division is laden with talent and he said that he can't wait to mix it up with the leading contenders. "You know I don't look for any names specifically but I will fight anyone. I am very motivated. There are a lot of new names in the division and it is loaded with talent. It is exciting," Angulo stated. [QUOTE=boliodogs]I was favoring Chavez and then I saw a video of Martinez on the mitts recently on Boxing Scene. He was so fast and hit so hard that I changed my pick to Martinez but I still hope Chavez wins. Martinez is aging really well. He seems stronger, faster and better than he was 10 years... |

Juanma Lopez is a great fighter. He's provided very entertaining fights. He would've won his last fight too if he hadn't a gone toe to toe. |
