Mexico's Alfredo "El Perro" Angulo (20-1, 17KOs) refused to discuss a future fight with the WBC's junior middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Angulo has a tough fight ahead, with big banger James Kirkland (29-1, 26KOs) on November 5th at the Convention Center of Cancun, Quintana Roo. The winner of the HBO televised clash is going to become the WBC's mandatory challenger to Alvarez's title.

"Of course we want to face the world champion, but right now I can't think about that.....because first I have to win this fight by beating Kirkland. I have a set fight against a good oppponent and he's going to be a tough hurdle to remove from my path," Angulo said. "First let me win this fight, then we'll talk about Canelo. Kirkland is a very hard puncher. It's no accident that he knocked out 26 of his 29 victims, and only has a single loss. To talk about Canelo right now...why?"

I don't think a ton of Canelo, but I think he is wrongly being looped in with Chavez Jr. as an unskilled joke. I don't agree with that. I think Angulo beats Kirkland (a maybe), and then IF they fight....I see Angulo as the favored fighter. I don't think it will be a whitewash at all. I honestly s...

Cintron schooled Angulo. End of story.

Angulo is respecting his promoters and will wait patiently for the big fights that I'm sure he was promised. At 154, it's wide open and Angulo will be a tough match-up for anyone(IMO, Lara and Molina have what it takes to beat him). GBP won't sign Angulo-Canelo until they and TR cash in on the ...
Hmm when did Angulo become this beast that everybody is scared of? Has the Cintron-Angulo fight been wiped off everyone's memory?
I'm curious did you see the Cintron/Angulo fight? because it wasn't as if Cintron completely dominated and destroyed Angulo. It was a...
Kirkland has become underrated since his lost
No I think it's more of a case he was overrated. He's just a scrappy brawler with no chin, not that I think Angulo is much better but at least he's got a chin & occasionally throws a jab out there.
