Angel Garcia: Khan The Same Guy, He Has No Chin

By Rick Reeno

Angel Garcia, father and trainer of WBC/WBA junior welterweight champion Danny Garcia (26-0, 16KOs), believes Amir Khan is still the same fighter who Danny knocked out in four rounds last July in Las Vegas. At that time, Khan (23-3, 19KOs) was being trained by Freddie Roach, but now the British superstar is being handled by Virgil Hunter.

Last Saturday in Sheffield, Khan struggled to a twelve round decision win over Julio Diaz. Khan was dropped in the fourth round and shaken badly in the championship rounds.

Danny returns on September 7th against the winner of the May 18th clash between Lucas Matthysse and Lamont Peterson. Golden Boy Promotions has penciled in December 7th for the return of Khan - who may fight the winner of the September fight.

"Did you see that the other night? Khan is still the same guy, he is still the same guy. He gets hit with everything. The guy got no chin. You saw the fight, he got no chin. Danny would knock him out again, he would do the same thing to him," Garcia told BoxingScene.com.

To be amongst the elite boxers, and then succesfully hang in there to be considered elite you need to be strong, mentally, physically, & most of all SPIRITUALLY, these three qualities are the essentials what elite boxers are blessed with.

Although he's right, Angel Garcia needs to stop talking about Khan. The more he says things like, "He has no chin, he's overrated, he's a bum", the more he takes away from his son's victory. As of right now, Khan…

I can't stand Angel Garcia and his loud mouth, but he's right on this one. You just can't fix a glass jaw. Only way Khan stays a top contender is if he survives the knockout like he did against Maidana.…
