WBA junior welterweight champion Andreas Kotelnik (30-2-1, 13 KOs) may be heading to New York's Madison Square Garden on November 8. Kotelnik, making an optional defense, won a unanimous decision over Norio Kimura (34-6-2, 18 KOs) of Japan at the Sportpalace in Lviv, Ukraine. The scores were 118-110, 119-09 and 119-109.
Kotelnik is now scheduled to fight Dmitriy Salita (28-0-1, 16 KOs) in the co-feature to the Joe Calzaghe-Roy Jones Jr. HBO pay-per-view. Kotelnik is a serious step up in class for the undefeated Salita, who recently signed a promotional contract with Jones' Square Ring.
