During his recent trip to Las Vegas, WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward spoke to BoxingScene.com about the potential fight between Carl Froch and IBF champion Lucian Bute. Last month in Atlantic City, Ward decisioned Froch to win the Super Six Boxing Classic. There have been discussions about a 2012 collision between Froch and Bute, although Showtime would rather have the Canadian star face Ward.

"If I had to choose somebody right now, I would have to lean towards Froch. Simply because of the mental makeup. I just feel like Froch has the ability to break Bute, both mentally and physically. Some people may disagree and feel like Bute is the better boxer, but I think sometimes Bute has a rehearsed style. if you look at his footwork, it doesn't seem natural...it almost seems kind of like a robotic thing," Ward told BoxingScene.com

"I have pretty good footwork and Froch was able to kind of stay with me in some instances. I just feel like stylistically froch has the edge. And of course both fighters are hungry, but Froch's real hungry coming off this loss.

Regarding Ward's next fight, plans are in motion for a May return, likely on May 19 or May 26.
