| Andre Ward Discusses Possible Andre Dirrell Showdown
|
|
By Luis Sandoval One potential option for WBC/WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (26-0, 14KOs) is fellow 2004 US Olympian Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14KOs). Both men entered the Super Six Tournament but due to an injury, Dirrell was forced to pull out prematurely and has been rather inactive the last 2 and half years. While there is still some intrigue in the fight, Ward feels Dirrell would need to get himself back on track for the fight to be a real possibility. “I think Dirrell has some ground to make up .I think at this stage in my career I'm in a position now where I want to take the best fights that are out there and I don't think that that's the best fight for either of us right now. It will probably be for him because he's in a situation where he's trying to win his first title and trying to have people remember who he was and trying to regain some momentum. But if Dirrell makes up that ground and that's a fight that's in demand I mean why not? Absolutely,” expressed the Oakland native to BoxingScene.com's official audio show, The Boxing Lab.
Ok then how about the cheap shot Abraham hit him with before Dirrel "feinted"?Don`t try to censor what happen to suit your agenda.
Had Dirrel hit Abraham with that same cheap shot you people would be calling Dirrel a cheater and would have claimed Abraham was on his way to w... |
All cherrypickers are untouchable :lol1:
If you are implying that Ward is a cherrypicker, you are missing the target completely. You can accuse him of being a dirty homer and you could have a point. Not cherrypicker. He has cleaned up the division and the only thing mis... |
I took the time to come on the forum to ask if we can ban people like this. I'm all for opinions but ones that are based in fact. Pavlik needs to fight someone better everyone knows that but to say ward is a cherry picker is just dumb.Who has he avoided?
Ward should fight Gabriel f**king Campillo at 175. He should have wins over Shumenov, Murat, and Cloud. That'd be a very very solid win for Ward at 175.
He's right about Dirrell. He should have to beat someone like Bika first at least, and get some credibility back first. |
