Super middleweight Andre Dirrell (19-1, 13KOs) makes his return on Friday night against Darryl Cunningham (24-2, 10KOs) at the Morongo Casino Resort and Spa in Cabazon, California. It will be Dirrell's first fight since suffering an injury in his disqualification win over Arthur Abraham in March 2010.

Dirrell is another boxer with great interest in facing IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs). Like his good friend Andre Ward, Dirrell isn't impressed with Bute's undefeated record.

"I want him as well man. He’s a protected fighter. He’s a champion, no doubt. He has great hand-speed, he has great foot-speed—he’s a good boxer. But we all know he’s in there with B and C+ fighters. You know, he has not been in that ring with tough competition," said Dirrell to boxinginsider.com. “
Bute beat him worst than any other fighter he faced. You could argue Johnson won against Cloud. So why you were so hyped up about a catchweight non title fight.
PS: Since when did beating a fighter worse than he already has been beaten become such a "BIG" accomplishm...
You're missing a very critical piece to this timeline you lay out. Whether Dirrell faked the AA late shot is immaterial and a red herring to what happened months later...which is the fact that ambiguous medical reports on a neuro disorder led him to back out of Ward and the...
Johnson is a tough fight to anyone in the division since he never get knockout.
Oh really? 168SMW on Glenn Jonson "BEFORE" he fought Bute:
Another fighter dodging Bute. You are old, past your prime, lost to every decent fighter you faced, take that...
1. AA looked like a bum at super middleweight because he lost to the top in the division? 2. How can you advocate Bute fighting Glenn Johnson the slightest bit, whom he admitted to being his top opponent at the time?
Johnson is a tough fight to anyone in the di...
