Andre Berto To Face Steven Upsher on September 6

by Luke Furman

Former welterweight champion Andre Berto (28-3, 22KOs) is going to face Philadelphia's Steven Upsher (24-3-1, 6KOs) at the  U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Berto has been inactive since a twelfth round TKO defeat to Jesus Soto Karass in July of 2013. Following the fight, Berto had to undergo shoulder surgery for injuries suffered during the loss.

Winless since September of 2011, Berto is looking to end his losing streak with a big win over Upsher, who himself lost his last two to Eddie Gomez and Luis Collazo.

Berto's fight will be part of a Showtime televised card, which features Adrien Broner facing Emmanuel Taylor and Lucas Matthysse taking on Roberto Ortiz.

See, this is when it's fair to fight a Salka, after having gotten beat up 2-3 times in a row.

Wasn't expecting Berto to face a killer at this point in his career, but this guy is way too much of a tomato can. I really don't understand how there is any interest with fans or the networks to make…

Berto is so overrated...not sure how he has been able to have had a decent career fighting a list of nobodies.... his losses were too b level players and he was dominated in those performances. Not a fan of berto.
