Andre Berto Destroys Freddy Hernandez in One Round

At the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Andre Berto (27-0, 21KOs) destroyed Freddy Hernandez (29-2, 20KOs) in the first round after landing a crushing rightcross. Hernandez had his guard and hands up but he was caught right on the button and went down hard. He made it up but was barely able to get his senses together and the referee stopped the fight. Berto retains his WBC welterweight title. If there was ever a statement to make for a fight with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, Berto may have made it. Berto is on the short-list of challengers being considered for Pacquiao's next fight.
