British star Amir Khan (29-3, 19KOs) told BoxingScene.com that he's absolutely serious about stepping in the ring with his former Wild Card stablemate Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38KOs).
Khan and Pacquiao trained side by side, and often sparred, at trainer Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Khan parted ways with Roach in 2012 and hired trainer Virgil Hunter.
Pacquiao is scheduled to defend his WBO welterweight title against Chris Algieri on November 22nd in Macau, China. Khan's preferred choice is a fight with WBC/WBA champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. If a Mayweather fight is not available, Khan is very interested in facing Pacquiao in the ring.
"I would love that fight against Manny Pacquiao. I offered that fight to [Pacquiao's team] as well, 100%. Manny Pacquiao, [Juan Manuel] Marquez, [Tim] Bradley - these are names that I've tried to get but I was unable to. With Golden Boy you have Mayweather, its the name that just stands out there. Style wise that's the only fight that makes sense [among their stable]," Khan told BoxingScene.com.
