Amir Khan Hopes April 20th Return Lands in The UK

Amir Khan wants to fight back in United Kingdom for the first time in two years. The 26-year-old has fought his last five opponents in America since beating Paul McCloskey in Manchester, back in April 2011.

Khan is getting married in the summer so wants to be back in action in the spring, probably on April 20.

He is being linked with Victor Ortiz and Josesito Lopez, who fought each other in June, as well as Vyacheslav Senchenko, the man who ruined Ricky Hatton's comeback at the MEN Arena in November.

But whoever he takes on next, the boy from Bolton is desperate to face them on home soil at last.

"I would love for the fight to be in England, so I'm working with Golden Boy in America to try and get it here," he told Sky Sports.

"It's been a long time since I fought in the UK and I love fighting in the UK.

"I want to come back and put a great show on for the fans and show that I am a world-class fighter."

"I've got a loyal fanbase over here; fans who have been watching me seen since the Olympics (2004) and fans who have watched me before that.

"So I want to come back and put a great show on for the fans and show that I am a world-class fighter."

I'd love to see a Senchenko/Khan fight @ 147. It would be good for Khan's fans back at home, I can't be mad at that. Dude has been fighting all over the place in the past few years and Senchenko…

The Senchenko fight will sell either at 140, a catchweight, or 147. Stick Ogogo on the card with a few decent GB fighters and I'm there.
