Super featherweight contender Diego Magdaleno returns to action on May 17th at The Forum in Inglewood, CA, manager Frank Espinoza told Boxingscene.com on Monday afternoon.
Magdaleno will fight in a likely 10 round bout on the undercard of the Top Rank card that will be headlined by the Juan Manuel Marquez-Mike Alvarado bout.
No word yet on who Magdaleno will face on that night.
Diego has looked very good working with (trainer) Joel Diaz and he could be a fight or two away from fighting for a world title, said Espinoza, who also manages Jessie Magdaleno, Diegos younger brother.
Magdaleno (25-1, 10 KOs) knocked out Jorge Pazos in the fourth round of his last fight on February 15th in Hawaiian Gardens, CA.
In his only attempt at a world title belt in April of 2012, Magdaleno lost a 12 round split decision to Roman Rocky Martinez.
Magdaleno, who resides in Las Vegas, has worked with Joel Diaz in Indio, CA for the last year.
