WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri is very familiar with Emmanuel Taylor (18-2, 12KOs). Algieri won a tough ten round decision over Taylor in February. Two fights later, Algieri is a beltholder and challenging WBO 147-pound champion Manny Pacquiao on November 22nd in Macau.

Taylor has been able to position himself for big things as well. He won a ten round decision over once highly regarded Karim Mayfield in July, and now faces one of the most recognizable names in boxing, Adrien Broner (28-1, 22KOs), on September 6th at the U.S. Bank Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Algieri says Taylor is certainly capable of pulling off the upset - if he comes in with the right game plan and sticks to it.

"I'm happy for Manny. I give a lot of props to that kid. He's a hell of a fighter. We took him very, very seriously and I had to have a very strict game plan going into that fight. I thank God it went the way it did and we were able to do what we needed to do. Manny is a great fighter but so is Adrien. Adrien is a hell of a fighter. I think if Manny goes out there and uses his jab, he can make this a very interesting fight. He is that good. If he goes out there and doesn't use his jab, I think Broner could pick him apart. I really think it's a pick'em fight, I could go either way," Algieri told BoxingScene.com.
