Algieri Focused Not To Win, But To Dominate Pacquiao

By Rick Reeno

WBO junior welterweight champion Chris Algieri (20-0, 8KOs) is not worried about the agreed upon location for the biggest fight of his career. On November 22nd in Macau, Algieri will face Manny Pacquiao at a catch-weight of 144-pounds for the WBO welterweight title. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the card.

While Algieri has no issue with facing Manny in Macau - that hasn't stopped his family, friends and many fans from asking if he has any concerns.

"People always ask about that - if I'm worried about fighting there or getting a decision. I don't think like that. I'm a positive guy. It happens in the sport [people getting robber], but if it happens it happen. I don't ever plan on having close fights. I plan on dominating my fights. I'm coming with the same game plan for this fight," Algieri told BoxingScene.com.

And, Algieri is not buying into any of the press clippings which suggest Pacquiao is getting old.

"I looked him in his eyes and he still had fire in his eyes. He's not an old man. He's here to fight," Algieri said.

I can't help not liking this guy every time he makes a comment but I seriously doubt that he has the goods to beat Manny. If he doesn't get beat up too bad I would love to see him fight…

the problem ive noticed with algierie is his footwork, it seems like he cant take little steps around he tends to crab on his front foot too much and is fairly easy to corner.

Well according to many on this site, he can do it because he is tall. Thats all you need apparently.
