Alexander vs Maidana Deal is Getting Close For Jan/Feb

By Ryan Burton

BoxingSene.com has been advised that an agreement has been reached in principle for WBA junior welterweight champion Marcos Maidana (31-2, 28KOs) to face former unified junior welterweight champion Devon Alexander (22-1, 13KOs). The fight will be fought at that the welterweight limit of 147 pounds.

Alexander signed a promotional contract with Golden Boy in September and this will be his first fight under their banner. Maidana is also promoted by Golden Boy. The fight will take place in either January or February.  Both HBO and Showtime are in the running to televise the fight.

When reached for comment, Alexander's trainer and manager Kevin Cunningham advised BoxingScene that they approved the fight and were just waiting to hear back from Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer.
Maidana has ducked Soto for a while, cause Maidana is deathly scared to get KO'd by Soto. http://www.boxingasylum.com/f2/maidana-rejects-nov-26-soto-fight-14225.html Maidana is a proven COWARD. Maidana ducked Humberto Soto in September, cause Maidana refused to fight Soto this Nov. 26th.
