Earlier this week IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander appeared on BoxingScene Radio and spoke on a variety of topics including a potential showdown against former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan.  The fighters promoter Golden Boy Promotions, along with Khan himself have expressed an interest in making the fight happen on December 7th. Alexander told us that he likes the fight as well.

"It definitely is a good fight that I would be interested in. They say Khan is one of the best guys out there.  In my opinion he is just an average guy," stated Alexander.

"When it is all said they are pumping him up so I would love to get in the ring with him because I will definitely beat him. He will get with his team and I will get with my team and we will go from there. I have near shied away from no opponent. I get in the ring with whoever they put in front of me."

Khan looked shaky and even hit the canvas in his last fight when he defeated former titlist Julio Diaz. BoxingScene Radio co-host Luis Sandoval asked Alexander to measure up the danger in facing the Brit.

"I don't think he's a threat at all. Well let me take that back. Like I said with Purdy, anyone who puts on gloves is a threat to me.  He's trying to hurt you and take what you have so that's a threat alone but as far as me versus Khan, skill versus skill, he isn't a threat to me at all. He hasn't fought too many guys with skills like mine in his career and I think that will be a factor in this fight," Alexander told BoxingScene Radio.
