Troja Boxing Group was forced to cancel their big promotion in Berlin that was set for October after the headliners fell through, one after another. Rico Mueller vs Nasser Athumani for the IBO international welterweight title will now go ahead at another date.
Karim Guerfi is out of the fight for the vacant EBU flyweight title and he's going to be replaced by Silvio Olteanu, who steps in on short notice to take on Valery Yanchy on Friday (Oct 7) in La Coruna. Both men fight out of Spain but Yanchy hails from Belorus while Olteanu comes from Romania. It´s an interesting matchup between two fighters known for being awkward and trikcy.
Former EBU welterweight champ Jackson Osei Bonsu, now at jr. middleweight, continued his comeback with a hardfought decision over George Ungiadze last Friday in Gent, Belgium. Bonsu will return in a ten-rounder November 11 in Deurne.
Alexander Frenkel has vacated the EBU cruiserweight title due to injury. The vacant belt will be up for grabs between Enad Licina, the mandatory challenger for Frenkel, and Alexander Alexeev. The EBU have set October 12 as the deadline for purse bids or agreements. Frenkel was set to defend the title against Licina October 22 in Ludwigsburg.
It deserves to be reported that Yoan Pablo Hernandez relinquished the WBA interim-cruiserweight title prior to stepping in the ring with "USS" Steve Cunningham last Saturday night, so he only holds the IBF title.

Alexeev-Licina is a good, competitive fight. Both are decent fighters, but neither is quite world-class.
