The Professional Boxing Commission of Panama (Comibox) confirmed that rising junior welterweight contender Alberto 'Machine Gun' Mosquera (19-0-2, 13 KO) failed a drug test, taken after his decision victory over Colombian Fidel Monterrosa (29-7-0, 23 KO) to capture the vacant WBC Latino title on November 17th. Mosquera tested positive for marijuana.

'Now we can confirm that Mosquera tested positive for marijuana, but the boxer himself sent a letter in which he accepted the fact that he made a mistake, and gave an apology to Comibox. He will have to go to a rehabilitation center to overcome this situation," said Marcos Rolando Hermoso, the Comibox President.

The regulations of Comibox state the following: 'In the event that a boxer tests positive for drug use, the commission will declare the bout a no-decision [if the winner tests positive], suspend him immediately and the boxer will have to undergo a rehabilitation process."

NO Dumbasses!! the fact that a professional athlete tests positive for whatever substance it may be that he or she is knowingly and agrees to be illegal, means lack of discipline and professionalism. It shows that this person has habits that do not and never will congregate with any sport. Ever!!...

They're going to laugh him out of rehab when he tells them he's there for weed. He might even pick up a worse habit hanging around there.
