There is more trouble ahead for rising junior welterweight contender Alberto 'Machine Gun' Mosquera (19-0-2, 13 KO). A few weeks ago the Professional Boxing Commission of Panama (Comibox) confirmed that he failed a drug test, taken after his decision victory over Colombian Fidel Monterrosa (29-7-0, 23 KO) to capture the vacant WBC Latino title on November 17th. Mosquera tested positive for marijuana.

Pursuant to the regulations of Comibox, the fight was declared a no-decision.

The World Boxing Association has not bounced him from the rankings and stated the boxer has been removed from his number twelve position due to his positive drug test.
