Fantasy Springs, Indio, California - Andrew Cancio (20-4-2, 15 KOs), a 15-1 underdog, scored a massive upset when he knocked out Alberto Machado (21-1, 17 KOs) to capture the WBA "regular" super featherweight world title.
To this day, Alberto Machado still doesn’t quite understand how he went from the World Boxing Association’s “Super” champion at 130 pounds to its “Regular” titlist without having lost or even endured an inactive period in his young career.

WBA "regular" super featherweight champion Alberto "El Explosivo" Machado said he was satisfied with the work done in the camp with Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach at the Wild Card Boxing Club in Hollywood, California. Machado, who has an undefeated record of 21-0, with 17 wins by knockout, will defend his title this Saturday against Mexican slugger Andrew "El Chango" Cancio (19-4-2, 14 KO's).
