CAGUAS, Puerto Rico - There was big night of boxing as three battles took place for regional titles, with undefeated prospect Alberto “Explosivo” Machado and future world title contender Angel 'Tito' Acosta. The card took place at the Roger L. Mendoza Coliseum in Caguas in a card presented by Miguel Cotto Promotions in association with Roc Nation Sports, H2 Entertainment, and Universal Promotions.

The show was part of the DIRECTV Boxing Nights series. It matched two of the top boxing companies in Puerto Rico, Miguel Cotto Promotions and Javier Bustillo's Universal Promotions, against each other.

In the actual main event, hard punching Angel “Tito” Acosta (13-0, 13 KOs) of Santurce picked up another brutal win by retaining his Fecarbox Mini Flyweight crown with a knockout of Dominican Erickson Martell (12-6-1, 8 KOs).

In the co-feature bout, the powerful Alberto “Explosivo” Machado (14-0, 12 KOs) of Monte Hatillo took out Miguel Angel Mendoza (22-7-2, 21 KOs) in the first round of their 130 pound title. Mendoza was down twice in the contest. The scores were 97-93, 97-93 and 98-92.

 In other action, José “Chiquiro”  Martínez (17-0, 10 KOs) of Las Marías defended the colors of Miguel Cotto Promotions when he won a ten round unanimous decision over Edwin “Puto” Rodríguez (7-3, 5 KOs) of Juana Díaz and retained the WBC Super Flyweight Latino belt.
