Akifumi Shimoda Drops Betos Three Times To Win Big
By Hisao Adachi
Former WBA super bantamweight champion Akifumi Shimoda (26-3-1, 11KOs) returned to action at the Korakuen Hall in Toyko, Japan and won an easy ten round unanimous decision over Richard Betos (19-6). The scores were 100-88 and 100-87 twice.
Betos was dominated and went down three times in the contest - in rounds two, four and six. He managed to hold on until the final bell.
Shimoda has now won four in a row since the upset knockout loss to Rico Ramos last July.
Shimoda has too many ups and downs in his mental makeup. I haven't seen his performance this time around, but I hope he's rebuilt his mental toughness and tenacity. Regarding hand speed and footwork, he is a top grader.Post a Comment - View More User Comments (1)
