Contrary to rumors of appearing against multiple opponents on the undercard for a proposed rematch between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana on September 13th, former three division champion Adrien Broner (28-1, 22KOs) took to the social networks to drop a hint that he might return on September 6th, which is one week prior to the likely Mayweather-Maidana PPV rematch.

Broner, who fought at welterweight during 2013, returned in May as a junior welter as part of the Mayweather-Maidana undercard at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and won a decision over 140-pounder Carlos Molina. Broner had a jumped from 135 to 147 and lost a decision last December to Marcos Maidana. Following the defeat, he made a decision to drop down in weight.
