| Adrien Broner Decisions Daniel Ponce De Leon in Ten

By Chris LaBate Honda Center, Anaheim, California - undefeated super featherweight prospect Adrien "The Problem" Broner (20-0, 16KOs) won a very unpopular twelve round unanimous decision over former champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (41-3, 34KOs), who was moving up in weight to take the fight. The scores were 96-94, 96-94 and a crazy score of 99-91 for Broner. The first three rounds were all Ponce De Leon. Broner was not throwing enough punches and Ponce De Leon was digging often to that body. By the fourth, Ponce De Leon became very brave and started coming forward to stalk Broner. In the fifth, Broner was landing a very accurate right hand to the head of Ponce De Leon. Broner wasn't making it pretty. He was landing once punch at a time and moving away before Ponce De Leon could counter. Ponce De Leon started to come back and made it close in the seventh and eight rounds. He was throwing many more punches. The final two rounds were very close as well. Broner did well in the tenth with hard punches but still allowed Ponce De Leon to throw a lot more punches. That's the second time he get a gift decision...now they want to mach him with gamboa and give to gamboa a slight chance..they forgot this .....gamboa clearly outbox ponce to a shotout.. |
