According to sources in Mexico, the World Boxing Council has given WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (24-1, 20KOs) until the close of business on September 19th to finalize the details of his voluntary title defense.
If Stevenson fails to meet that deadline, the sanctioning body will order his promoter to begin negotiations for a mandatory fight with countryman Jean Pascal (29-2-1, 17KOs). At that point, if a deal is not reached with Pascal within 30 days, then the WBC will order a purse bid.
