Adolphe Learned From Watching Gamboa, Rigondeaux

New pro Louis Adolphe says fight fans can expect excitement from him when he makes his long-awaited pro-debut next week.

Former amateur star Adolphe, the 2012 ABA Light-Welterweight Champion, takes on Jamie Ingleby over four rounds at the home of London boxing, the York Hall in Bethnal Green, on Wednesday 16th July.

The hot talent from Wimbledon, who trains with former Earlsfield ABA teammate Kirk Garvey - who also makes his pro-debut on the show - under top trainer Jim McDonnell, will campaign at welterweight and says that with his flashy style, inspired from the great Cuban boxers, he'll become a London favourite.

"I'm excited to make my pro-debut at last, it's been a long time waiting so I'm just bubbling to get in the ring and show what I can do," Said Adolphe.

"I had a fantastic amateur career, beating top names like Sam McNess, Martin Stead, Josh Taylor, Danny Phillips and current unbeaten pro Gary Corcoran, but for me the time was right to turn pro and with my style it was always the plan.  Now I'm embarking on the next stage of my boxing career and heading towards my ambition of becoming a world champion,"

"I've got a flashy style, it's eye catching and different and I've been the nickname 'Cute', so it's 'Cute' Louis Adolphe!  My style is very slick and cute, I can box and fight, I can be elusive, I'm very quick with my hands and feet and I'm not afraid to get down into the trenches when I need to.  I understand that boxing is a sport, but we're entertainers as well and we've got to entertain the crowd, I'm sure they won't be disappointed with me,"

"My style comes from watching the Cuban amateurs and pros especially the likes of Yuriorkis Gamboa and Guillermo Rigondeaux.  The way they judge distance and get in and out with their feet, the angles that they use, and at the same time not afraid to have a fight,"

"With former European champion Jimmy Mac in my corner, I couldn't ask for a better trainer.  Once I find my feet after two or three fights, I think I will be moved quite quick, a lot of people have said I'm special, but I don't want to run before I can walk, it's down to me to prove that I am."

Frank Buglioni’s Vacant Southern Area Super-Middleweight title challenge against Sam Couzens headlines the show, with Mitchell Smith v Peter Cope, for the Southern Area Super-Featherweight Championship, featuring as chief-support.

Also on the card, Penge’s Bradley Skeete returns to action in an eight-round contest against Steve Pearce, completing the card is Wembley Light-Middleweight Gary Corcoran, Chingford super-middleweight Tom Baker, Canning Town light-welterweight Billy Morgan, Cardiff super-featherweight Romeo Romaeo, and the highly anticipated pro-debuts of Clapham light-heavyweight Kirk Garvey (2012 ABA Light-Heavyweight Champion) and Wimbledon welterweight Louis Adolphe (2012 ABA Light-Welterweight Champion).
