Adamek vs. Johnson is Turned Down By HBO

BoxingScene.com has learned that HBO took a pass on the proposed cruiserweight bout between IBF champion Tomasz Adamek and former light heavyweight champ Glen Johnson. I hear the deal for the fight is practically done. All the fight needs is a television date. Adamek vs. Johnson has "action" written all over it. Hopefully Showtime picks up the fight.

HBO really dropped the ball by passing on last Saturday's fight between Jermain Taylor and Carl Froch. HBO's loss was Showtime's gain. The fight was a smoker and every person I know is raving about it. Instead of Taylor-Froch, HBO televised the super bantamweight bout between Juan Manuel Lopez and Gerry Penalosa, which in all honestly was a physical mismatch on paper and proved to be a physical mismatch in the ring.
Eventhough id like to see this fight. I understand why HBO wont show it. No offense but neither of those guys are household names. Glen Johnson when televised on HBO/Showtime was televised not beacuse of his name but because of who he was fighting (Jones, Tarver, Dawson). Ad...
At least we shall be spared some horrible scoring by Lederman, I got Glen Johnson in this one, but if its close he will get screwed again. Adamek doesnt move his head, so johnson should find him with the right and and jab no problems.
He does move his head. W...
