Former two division champion Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KOs) does not rule out the possibility of a rematch with Andrew Golota (41-5-1-1-, 33KOs), who recently started training for a planned comeback in 2012. Golota, 43-years-old, has not fought since a fifth round TKO loss to Adamek in October 2009. It was Adamek's first fight at heavyweight and the bout itself was a major event in Poland.
After beating Golota, Adamek promised to stay away from fighting other Polish boxers. But, if Golota gets himself back in order, Adamek feels it's only right to give him the courtesy of a rematch. Golota plans to return in early 2012 in a tuneup fight, likely in Chicago. Adamek is tentative to return in February or March.
"I am ready to fight anyone. Although I once said I would no longer accept fights with other Poles, it would fitting to give Andrew the opportunity of a rematch, because I beat him once. And whether he will be ready for something like this? I do not know, it's hard to say," Adamek said.
