Adamek-McBride on April 23 at The Prudential Center
By Lem Satterfield
Polish-born former light heavyweight (175 pounds) and cruiser weight (200 pounds) champion Tomasz Adamek, of Jersey City, N.J., will pursue his sixth straight win as a heavyweight during a run of 13 consecutive triumphs when he meets 6-foot-6, Ireland native and Mike Tyson-conqueror, Kevin McBride, of Brockton, Mass, on April 23, according to his promoter, Kathy Duva, of Main Events.
Adamek-McBride will take place at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., rather than another site that was considered in Katowice, Poland, said Duva.
The bout with McBride is a keep-busy fight as Adamek prepares for a September showdown with either WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, or his older brother, WBC king Vitali Klitschko.

This fight will draw about 10'000 people in the Prudential Center. This is a stay busy fight and a paycheck before Adamek fights Wlad.Comment by Freedom. on 02-04-2011
It much better for Adamek to remain active with a fight in April rather than simply wait until September.Comment by FloydTBE on 02-04-2011
