Former two division champion Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28KOs) is going to rest for the remainder of the year, but plans to return in 2012 and only wants the best fights possible. Last Saturday in Poland, he stepped in the ring before 42,000 fans at Stadium Miejski and was stopped in ten rounds by WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko. Adamek will return as a heavyweight and doesn't rule out a possible fight with Vitali's younger brother, IBO/IBF/WBO/WBA king Wladimir Klitschko.
"This year I will not fight again, and early next I'll decide what's next. I'll probably fight in the United States, but I really want to come back to Poland because the atmosphere in the stadium was unique. Polish fans are the best in the world. If I fight again, it's only at the highest level. I do not plan to fight the so-called [journeymen] because it makes no sense. If I had to return to the ring, I want to fight for the championship of the world. There is still Vitali's brother, and this fight can happen next year. But for now I'm going to take a rest," Adamek said.
